MRCS Part B October 2020

Further to the announcement made on 3 August 2020 about the proposed changes to the MRCS Part B (https://www.intercollegiatemrcsexams.org.uk/announcements/changes-to-mrcs-part-b-osce-october-2020-due-to-covid-19/), the four Royal Surgical Colleges can confirm that the GMC have approved these plans.

Furthermore, the four Royal Surgical Colleges can confirm that the October 2020 MRCS Part B (OSCE) will be delivered in-person in a socially-distanced fashion in the previously stated exam window (between 3 and 18 October 2020). Candidates will be contacted by the College to which they applied with information on the exact date they will be sitting the exam.

If COVID-19 restrictions are amended such that one or more of the Colleges are unable to run an exam at a particular centre, the exam will be delivered remotely in the same format in late November to the affected candidates.

The cancellation of one exam centre will not cause the cancellation of the exam at other venues and other Colleges.

Candidates are encouraged to check and consider Government advice and to take all guidance into account when making travel and accommodation arrangements to attend an examination.
