September 2020 MRCS Part A resit

01 Oct 2020

Further to our announcement last week, ICBSE has now completed its preliminary investigation into a technical issue on the part of the software provider which we know adversely affected a small, but important, group of candidates. The candidates who were directly affected by this technical issue have already been contacted by the Colleges. ICBSE has decided that these candidates should have the opportunity to re-sit the MRCS Part A written exam, free of charge, on Tuesday 3 November 2020.

Any other candidates who believe they were seriously affected by technical issues and who wish to apply for this re-sit should notify their College of entry, providing details of the issues experienced, by 0900hrs GMT Friday 2 October.

Candidates requesting this re-sit should be aware that your 15 September attempt will be expunged, and you will not know the result of your first online attempt, nor have the opportunity to choose between that attempt and the re-sit result.

All candidates should be aware that this offer of a free re-sit to those whose performance was seriously and adversely affected on 15 September means that no further appeals or complaints about the diet will be considered by the ICBSE.
